In order to list your DIY property sale online with us, we need you to verify ownership or verify consent from the owner that you can list on their behalf. Doing so helps us to comply with consumer regulations and to avoid any fraudulent activity via our website.
It is compulsory to provide proof of identity in the form of an Australian Driver’s license or passport. To provide proof of ownership we require a rates notice for the property you are listing on the market. This notice needs to link the property owner, to the proof of identity provided.
Advertising on behalf of another
If you do not own the property you are wishing to advertise, this is acceptable as long as the owner consents to this. The owner still needs to be the one who signs the compliance forms and verifies their identification, and from then on, the listing process can be handled by you.
Advertising on behalf of a business
If the property you are wishing to advertise is in a company name, we also need proof that either;
a) The director of the company authorises you to handle the sale on the company's behalf, this should provided on company letterhead
b) You are the director of the company
You must then provide your ID accompanied with this letter and the rates notice to continue.
Advertising for a deceased estate
If you are advertising on behalf of a deceased, we also need a copy of the Power of attorney, or another form of proof that you are authorised to handle the sale process of the property. We then need the proof of identity and rates notice from you as well.
